A practical check of your total-loss offer<\/h1>\n

Use this evidence checklist to decide what needs review. It does not calculate a guaranteed increase.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/section>\n

Check 1: is it the right vehicle?<\/h2>\n

Compare VIN, year, trim, engine, drivetrain, mileage and packages against your records. Note the report page for every mismatch. An equipment correction is easier to evaluate than a general statement that the offer feels low.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n

Check 2: are the comparisons useful?<\/h2>\n

Look for matching configuration, relevant dates, title history, actual availability and a justified search area. Record duplicate VINs. Ask whether each listing was used in the calculation or provided only as background.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n

Check 3: can you follow the adjustments?<\/h2>\n

Trace mileage, equipment, condition and any price adjustments separately. Understand the direction and net effect. Different implied mileage rates alone do not establish an error; ask for the model or market explanation.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n

Check 4: is the settlement separate?<\/h2>\n

A deductible, loan payoff or salvage-retention amount can explain a lower payment without showing that the pre-loss valuation is low. Review an itemized statement and identify the line you actually dispute.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n

Check 5: what evidence would change the result?<\/h2>\n

Collect records that correct a fact or establish a relevant market comparison. Write a short request tied to that evidence. If you cannot identify a specific discrepancy, an appraiser can review the report, but should not promise that a discrepancy or increase will be found.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n
