Subrogation
The insurer’s pursuit of recovery from a responsible party after paying a covered loss, subject to applicable rights, policy terms and law.
Why the term matters
Ask whether your deductible is included, whether recovery has occurred and how money will be allocated. Do not assume a broad made-whole statement answers every auto deductible question.

“Where does this term appear in my report or policy, and how does it affect this specific calculation or next step?” Ask for a written explanation tied to the document.
