State Farm total loss claims. Understand your options.
A second opinion begins with the complete valuation, the written offer and the policy that applies. We work for consumers, not insurance companies.
Start with the State Farm claim file.
Request the full valuation, all comparable pages and adjustment explanations.
Separate the vehicle value from deductible, salvage, loan payoff and other settlement amounts.
Identify whether you are claiming under your own policy or against another driver.
Keep the claim representative’s written response to each correction request.
Total Loss Network is an independent consumer appraisal service. We are not State Farm and are not affiliated with or endorsed by the insurer.
Whose insurance is handling your total loss?
Your own policy
Request the complete valuation and your policy’s appraisal provision. Correct report errors first. If a value disagreement remains and the policy permits appraisal, an appointed appraiser can present a supported valuation through that process. Explore total loss appraisal-clause service →
The other driver’s insurer
An independent report can support your vehicle-value demand. The other driver’s policy does not automatically give you its appraisal-clause rights. You or your attorney submit the evidence and handle the third-party claim. Explore report-only and demand-letter support →
Not sure which applies? Check whose policy is paying for the vehicle damage, not just whose name appears on a letter. The place of the crash alone does not decide which state’s law or policy terms apply.
Read the evidence behind the offer.
CCC ONE, Mitchell, Audatex and other valuation providers organize vehicle data. The report still needs to describe your particular vehicle and use supportable comparisons. A provider’s name is not proof that a report is right or wrong.
Confirm the vehicle
Check trim, drivetrain, mileage, factory packages and condition. Use the VIN, original window sticker or build information where available. Photograph features that are missing from the report.
Test each comparable
Check model configuration, title history, advertised availability and relevant condition. A similarly named vehicle can have a different engine, equipment package or branded title. Ask how the listing was verified.
Understand the adjustments
Ask for the basis of mileage and condition adjustments. A different per-mile amount can reflect a model-based calculation, so investigate it rather than assuming an error. Condition deductions need an explanation tied to actual differences.
What should I send when I dispute the report?
Use a short discrepancy list: report page, incorrect entry, supporting document and requested correction. Save listing URLs, screenshots, VINs, dates and dealer responses. Ask for a revised report showing the changes.
Should every condition deduction be added back?
No. A difference is a research question, not an automatic increase. Ask what condition was assumed for the comparable, what evidence supports that assumption and whether the adjustment fits your vehicle. Clean-title and rebuilt-title vehicles need careful treatment.

Historical records supplied by our appraisal team, including work completed before the Total Loss Network brand. These are selected supplied results, not a complete record of every assignment or a prediction. Dates and claim locations were not supplied for this dataset; these are not represented as Oregon-only results. Increases are before appraisal fees and other costs. No client names or claim numbers are shown.
Official State Farm agent resources.
Use the official directory to locate an agent serving your Oregon city or ZIP code. Confirm services directly. Agent listings are informational resources, not a recommendation to replace your coverage or a promise that an agent can change a claim decision.
For an existing claim, send valuation questions to the assigned claims representative. Changing insurers does not transfer responsibility for an existing loss.
Protect your claim while you dispute the value.
Storage and vehicle release
Ask the shop and insurer for the daily storage rate, who has agreed to pay it, the payment cutoff and the release procedure in writing. “We bill the insurer” does not by itself establish that you cannot owe a disputed balance. Preserve photographs and belongings, and arrange timely release when appropriate.
Rental, loan and paperwork
Confirm the rental end date separately from the value dispute. Keep loan payments current unless your lender agrees otherwise. Review title-transfer and release documents carefully; do not assume a payment or signature preserves every disputed issue.
Can I receive the undisputed vehicle value in Oregon?
Oregon’s total loss notice describes payment of the undisputed offer when you complete the necessary ownership-transfer documents and allow the insurer to take possession. Ask for the process and the continuing value dispute to be confirmed in writing. Get legal advice before signing a release you do not understand.
Total Loss Network works for consumers and does not accept insurance-company assignments. AI-assisted research helps organize evidence and flag questions. Experienced appraisers verify the work and control the valuation. Our senior appraiser brings more than 40 years of vehicle-appraisal experience.
A total loss appraisal clause dispute concerns supported vehicle value under an applicable policy process. A third-party insurance company valuation dispute needs its own evidence and claim strategy. We explain which service fits before an engagement begins.
Use the insurer’s written report, the policy and current official guidance together. For injuries, liability, settlement releases or court strategy, consult an attorney. Our appraisal service does not provide legal representation.
